AW55/50SN B5 Clutch Control Spring Identification
To check for the presence of a spring on the AW55/50SN, begin by removing the two ten-millimeter bolts that hold the steel plate, as seen in the illustration below. The plate covers half of one bore and completely covers the B5 clutch control valve.
Once the cover is removed, push down on the valve that the steel plate completely covers to determine if it is spring loaded. This valve is the B5 clutch control valve. Using gentle pressure, confirm that the B5 clutch control valve is not stuck in the bore. The purpose of this test is to confirm whether the B5 clutch control valve is equipped with a spring. This is very important because the valve body must match the computer's shift strategy programming.
Below is an exploded view of the B5 Clutch control valve. The valve body does not have to be dismantled to confirm if there is a spring in front of the B5 clutch control valve.
Our Valve Bodies are not just “tested” they are Remanufactured!
